Event Dates

Penny Rosenwasser

Since publishing Hope Into Practice in September 2013, I’ve had the privilege of traveling to more cities, towns, universities, synagogues, and communities than I can count right now, all over the US and Canada — speaking about the ideas in my book, hearing your thinking, and offering my “When I Dare to be Powerful” workshop and Anti-Semitism talks.

Connecting with so many hundreds (thousands?) of you all has been a thrilling and rewarding adventure, thank you for that! Your excitement and gratitude in response to my message(s) has fueled my determination to keep getting my ideas out there — so I’d love to come to YOUR community, school, synagogue or group to speak or lead a workshop or both! Let’s make it happen, contact me!

  • ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
    • Penny Rosenwasser with workshop attendees
    • This *four-part* workshop focuses on empowering our leadership and combating internalized anti-Semitism and misogyny by examining societal messages that hold us back from being the most effective activists and having the biggest lives possible — especially in these perilous times.
    • We’ll build bold & loving community together, transforming ourselves in the process, forging connection, and empowering our leadership. Intertwining self-love with social justice, we’ll strategize about new activist priorities to fight authoritarianism and hate, bolstering our capacity together to create a more just and generous world.
    • To empower our leadership, we’ll focus on uprooting internalized messages from our intersecting identities — especially how we experience anti-Semitism and misogyny — and also on gender oppression, racism, racism, classism, ableism, homophobia, and ageism.
    • Session topics include: sharing our stories, anti-Semitism & white nationalism/supremacy, internalized victimization, our bodies, celebrating victories, & action steps.
    • (Title of the workshop taken from a quote by Audre Lorde, with great appreciation and respect.)
  • WHO IS THIS FOR??
    • This workshop is geared to intergenerational Jewish women and gender-queer/trans folks who have been targeted by misogyny. Folks with all sorts of relationships to your Jewishness are welcome – close, almost non-existent, confused: whatever! Ages 18 and over welcome.
    • NOTE: if you took this workshop previously, this is a chance to go deeper — and to keep building community. The workshop will be similar, but there will be new material, new faces and voices, and YOU will likely have new insights as well. We’d love to have you back!

    • ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
      • This *four-part* workshop focuses on empowering our leadership and combating internalized anti-Semitism and misogyny by examining societal messages that hold us back from being the most effective activists and having the biggest lives possible — especially in these perilous times.
      • We’ll build bold & loving community together, transforming ourselves in the process, forging connection, and empowering our leadership. Intertwining self-love with social justice, we’ll strategize about new activist priorities to fight authoritarianism and hate, bolstering our capacity together to create a more just and generous world.
      • To empower our leadership, we’ll focus on uprooting internalized messages from our intersecting identities how we experience anti-Semitism, misogyny, gender oppression, adultism, racism, classism, ableism, homophobia, and ageism.
      • Session topics include: sharing our stories, internalized victimization, our bodies, how the political climate is affecting us, celebrating victories, & action steps.
      • Title of the workshop taken from a quote by Audre Lorde, with great appreciation and respect.
    • WHO IS THIS FOR??
      • This workshop is geared to intergenerational Jewish women and gender-queer/trans folks who have been targeted by misogyny. Folks with all sorts of relationships to your Jewishness are welcome – close, almost non-existent, confused: whatever you are is welcome. All ages 18 and over welcome.
      • NOTE: if you took this workshop series last year, this is a chance to go deeper — and to keep building community. The workshop will be similar to last year, but there will be new material, new faces and voices, and YOU will likely have new insights as well. We’d love to have you back!
    • WORKSHOP DETAILS
      • Fee for the whole workshop series is $40-$120 sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds.
